Terms of service
Effective September 29, 2026
These terms cover your purchase of Exact Words and The Documentation Vault from Exact Words, which is a trading name of Emanuel Chereji, Hofmannsthalweg 20/1/4, 4030 Linz, Austria.
They are short on purpose. Anything a normal person would find surprising is in bold.
What you are buying
Exact Words (The Manager’s Script System for Hard Conversations) is a book of scripts for managers, with two bonuses: the Reimbursement Kit and the 1:1 Reset Kit. It costs $97 USD.
The Documentation Vault is an optional add-on: fill-in templates and checklists for keeping your own records. It costs $24 USD.
Both are digital files, delivered by download. You can read them on a phone, tablet or computer and print them if you want to.
The price shown is the total you pay: $97 USD for Exact Words, $24 USD for The Documentation Vault, $121 USD for both. No Austrian VAT is added: for a download supplied to a consumer in the United States the place of supply is the United States (§ 3a Abs 13 lit a UStG 1994), so the sale is outside Austrian VAT. Nothing is shipped, so there is no delivery charge.
It is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription, no recurring charge and no automatic renewal of anything, ever. If you are ever billed twice, that is a mistake, and emailing support@exact-words.com will fix it.
Where we sell
We sell to customers in the United States. Our checkout is set up for United States buyers and our prices are in US dollars.
You are welcome to read every page of this site from anywhere in the world. We do not block visitors by country and we do not redirect them.
Delivery
Delivery is automatic. The moment your payment goes through, your order page shows a button for each file you bought, and your order confirmation email has the same buttons. Details are in our Shipping Policy.
What you may do with it
You get a personal licence to download what you bought, keep it on your own devices, read it, print it and use its words in your own conversations. It is for you: please don't pass the files on to other managers, who need their own copy.
You may not resell it, republish it, upload it anywhere public, or present its contents as your own work.
The text, layout, and the Exact Words name remain ours.
Refunds
30 days, no conditions, full refund, and you keep the download. Email support@exact-words.com with your order number. The full policy is in our Refund Policy, and it does not add a single condition that this sentence does not have.
The statutory warranty, which is separate from the guarantee
The guarantee above is voluntary. Independently of it, Austrian law gives you a two year statutory warranty on digital content, and for the first year the law assumes a defect was present from the start unless we prove otherwise. We cannot exclude that and we do not try to.
So if what you bought does not match how we described it, is missing something we said it contained, or will not open, tell us. That is a legal entitlement, not a favour.
What we promise, and what we do not
Exact Words and The Documentation Vault are written guidance and templates. We stand behind the description of what is in them.
We do not promise you a particular result. What you get out of them depends on your own situation and what you do with them, and we have no way to control either.
Not legal advice
Exact Words is practical wording and process guidance for managers. It is not legal advice, and it does not replace your company's policies, your HR team or a lawyer. Employment law differs by state and by employer.
Liability
We are liable to you for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, and for any injury to life, body or health, without limit. None of that is excluded, and no clause here can be read as excluding it.
For ordinary carelessness in a matter that does not involve injury, our liability is limited to what you paid for your order.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the mandatory consumer protection law of the country you live in. Where that law gives you more than these terms do, that law wins.
Which law applies, and where you can sue
These terms are governed by Austrian law. That is a floor and not a ceiling: it cannot take away the protection that the mandatory law of your own country of residence gives you.
You keep every court you are entitled to use. If you want to sue us, you may do it in the courts where you live, and nothing here changes that. If we ever need to sue you, we will do it where you live.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the new version appears here with a new effective date, and it applies to purchases made after that date.
A change never applies to a purchase you have already made, and continuing to use the site is not treated as agreeing to anything. The terms that govern your order are the ones that were on this page when you bought.
